Radio 1 DJ, X Factor judge and man about town Nick Grimshaw has launched his first ever fashion line. The range - Nick Grimshaw X Topman - is available now and it’s something to really sing about.
In a climate where celebrity collaborations are de rigour and often somewhat disappointing following the hype, this is a collaboration which has actually delivered.
The limited edition collection is comprised of 20 unique pieces, including animal print shirts, fringed suede jackets and laid back knitwear. Drawing on 90s grunge and street-style with a touch of rockstar glam thrown in, this is a creative collection that can be dressed up or down. Nick told Look Magazine earlier this year:
"I've always loved clothes and I love these ones so much that I asked Topman to make them for me!"
This might be Nick's first foray into designing, but he's a regular fixture of the fashion scene, often papped with fashionista friends Cara Delevigne, Kate Moss and Daisy Lowe.
Nick is an ambassador for London Collections: Men and can be found in the front row at shows. Mr Harry Styles himself knew his friend Nick was onto a good thing and was photographed wearing baggy shirts from Nick’s Topman collaboration back in the Summer, months before the collection launched.
In the press shots Nick Grimshaw looks dapper modelling the designs himself, in a series of black and white photos, which feature his English Bull Terrier, Pig. Now that’s what we call the personal touch. Nick has even dedicated a piece of statement knitwear in the collection to Pig, with an abstract portrait of his beloved doggy emblazoned on the front.
